A Book I’ve Enjoyed Reading

Hi everyone One of my favorite hobbies is reading, so I always carry a book with me to read in my free time. In the last time I have been reading some of the books that have made me think and reflect more; "Maya's notebook" written by the Chilean writer Isabel Allende, it is a drama novel that reflects the life of a 19-year-old teenager, Maya, who due to do hard changes in her life. The sweet girl becomes a crushed rebel teenager because of the social pressure, lack of limits and an ability to lie without scruples. So her family does not realize the huge changes in Maya. She starts to get involved with drugs, prostitution, illicit business until she gets persecuted by the FBI, seemingly unable to get out of that stormy life. The way of narrating events makes the reader go through moments of anguish and horror. I really enjoyed this book, despite of how difficult some of its parts were, the structure of its chapters, it shows us the changes experienced by Maya through

My favourite place in Chile

Hi everyone! I have been to Pucón since I was 12 years old, because my older sister lives there. This place is located  in the south of Chile and it's a tourist place. The first time I visited the place was in summer with my family, I was very excited because I had heard that it was a spectacular place. That summer we visited different places related to nature for example to nature reserves, we visited the Villarrica Volcano and we did sports like canopy, rafting and trekking, even though I got too tired, I enjoyed it. We also went to different places to taste different food dishes both sweet and salty. I fell in love with this place, that's why I go every summer. I made friends there, and now when I visit Pucón I travel alone and with my friends we go to the lake, we swim, sunbathe and see the sunset. Even though I go always in summer, everyone is different and I learn or know something new.

My favorite photograph

Hi everyone! This photo was taken by myself, when I went to a workshop group on a day trip to El Cajón del Maipo, to visit El Morado glacier. The work consisted in analyzing the environment, how the spaces were shaped and how this affected the journey and experiences of the people by going through the place. And after the analysis, we had to choose a place and design a building. I remember that there were many changes in temperatures, there were places that were very hot and others really cold, besides that, on that day we walked too much and climbed a lot of hills. One of the places I liked the most was when I went to the snow and, just by walking, I found this composition of stones in balance, I thought it was the precise frame for a photo. That's why this photo became one of my favorites, since it gives me a lot of peacefulness and makes me remember everything we experienced that day.

My favorite music album

Hi!  When I was a child I was always dance and listen to music specially I liked classical music a lot. As I was growing up, I started to define my music style, for example pop music, r&b, alternative rock and others. But of all the music that I hear, "Parachutes"is my favorite album, from the band Coldplay. This album was shown to me by my best friend years ago before leaving the city, although I like to listen to the album just to be able to concentrate, every time I hear it reminds me of her. This songs is a mixture of alternative rock and britpop, so every time when I have to study or read the book I listen to this album. I love "Parachutes" because these songs relax me and transmit me calm to perform any activity and I like the voice og the singer, this album also has a sentimental weight for me.

My favourite piece of technology

Hi everyone! Since she was a child I was influenced by my sisters about technology, but I never was a fan, until my parents gifted me a phone in my birthday number 15, with the purpose of being communicated with them, over time the telephone technology grew hastily I was discovering more about the phone, like games, apps, quality of the photos and others, generating interest in this telephone device. As we all know, the most important use of the phone is the long distance comunication, but today everyone use it for others purposes, for example, I use it for my private life and for university, to be able to do jobs, read books, listen to music, watch movies and to communicate with my friends and family  for the same I use it every moment and every day I am more dependant on the phone and I know it is harmful, but it fascinates me because it's multifuncional and I can use it everywhere, so without it I would cause anxiety.

My career choice

Since I was a child,  I always wanted to be a doctor, i´m interested in things about blood, diseases, needles and others. When I was growing I discovered others careers, like dance, phonoaudiology, engineering and architecture. Although architecture and phonoaudiology my favorites and the moment of apply, I choose architecture in University of Chile. I decided for this carrer because I have a friend who studies this carrer, so she talked to me about the great exponents of the profession, the history behind it, how to make models and sketch. All the above convinced me to choose this career.Now I´m in third  year of architecture I´m very happy beacuse I have grown as a person and I have met incredible people. When I finished my career I would like to focus on urbanism because I like what is related to the city, people and neighborhoods.

My Autobiography

Hi everyone! My name is Carolina González, I was born in April 26, 1999 in Santiago, Chile, like my parents. I´m the fourth of five sisters. My studies at the school were in the same institution near to my house called Regina Pacis school, and since I was a girl I wanted to be a doctor, but discovering more about professions changed my opinion and decided study architecture at the Univesity of Chile. Actually I have 19 years old and I’m in third year of architecture. I have learned about the great exponents of the profession, the history behind it, how to make models, sketch and besides everything, I have met incredible people. When I have free time I like to read romantic novels, listen to music, watch thriller movies and go out with my friends to eat.
